Our History

Rooted in Township Enterprise

SASTA, the South African Spaza & Tuckshop Association, was formed in 1997 as a club.

In 1999 it was established as an association, and in 2000 SASTA was formally launched under the wing of then Mayor Mogase.

Over the years, SASTA has represented and supported entrepreneurs operating across South Africa's informal and township economy.
